Computational Biomechanical Approach for Biological System:

Prof. Hao LIU, Biomechanical Engineering, Chiba University
Aula III piano Dipartimento
Abstract

Biomechanical systems in animal locomotion and the cardiovascular system are, in general, of 'Complex Systems', although some mechanisms behind it may be quite simple if unveiled, but they need to be modeled as realistic as possible so that we could avoid some pitfalls.
Computational biomechanical approach for such biological systems has been showing great potential and an effective method in uncovering these complicated and novel biological mechanisms. In this seminar, I will give an overview on some computational biomechanics-based studies recently conducted in our group with a specific focus on novel mechanisms in insect flapping flights and 0-1D-3D multi-scale hemodynamic modeling of the human cardiovascular system
